Nia Glassie was a sweet, happy baby mur*dered in July 2007 by five people who should have protected her, including her mother. Those five people: Lisa Kuka, Wiremu Curtis, and his brother Michael Curtis, along with Michael’s partner Oriwa and Michael Pearson, tortured Nia because they said she was ugly.

I don’t know where they saw ugly in her, she was beautiful. On the other hand, the five of them are pretty groteque.

Not only are they ugly outside, but they’re also hollow inside. If I wrote my true feelings toward these monsters, this story would not be publishable, so we’ll leave it at that.

The Mur-der of Nia Glassie

They put Nia in a dryer, set it to high heat, and left her to tumble for 30 minutes. They are monsters from Roura, New Zealand. Then, they hung Nia upside down from the clothesline and kept dropping her on her head.

The five monsters had been hurting them for months before they did this. Nia was mostly abused while her mom Lisa was at work, but Lisa didn’t do anything to stop it. Wiremu, her lover, and his boyfriend were the ones who hurt the animals the most.

Nia wasn’t taken to the hospital for almost two days after the terrible dryer accident because no one cared enough about her. Lisa finally took her to the hospital after 33 hours.

Nia was in bed when Kuka found her. She wasn’t going to wake up after wetting the bed. Nia was still asleep when she put her in the bath. Even though she wasn’t awake, she put her back in bed and watched Michael Curtis’ 21st birthday with the rest of the crew. Her own mom.

13-Days of Agony

Finally, Nia was taken to the hospital. She was very sick and couldn’t breathe on her own. It was a lie that Nia’s mother told the hospital staff that her daughter had fallen and hurt herself so badly.

Nia was in the hospital for 13 painful days before her injuries killed her. She died on August 3, 2007.

Why Was Nia A-bused?

Because the brothers didn’t like Nia, they chose to badly treat her for fun. Why would someone not like a three-year-old? These two guys said Nia looked bad.

They’re lying! This pretty little princess with olive skin and big brown eyes was perfect in every way.

Months of A-buse Before D-eath

Five people ab*used Nia so badly that she died. They held her over a fire, used her to practice wrestling moves, sat on her in a hole in the couch, threw her into ice-cold bathwater, drugged her and threw her through a sandpit while she was naked, threw her at walls, dropped her from feet in the air, and threw random things at her.

The pretty girl was hit, bitten, kicked in the head, slapped, and stomped on.

Arrests & Aftermath

All five of the monsters were taken into custody. The Curtis brothers were found guilty of Nia’s mu*rder, Kuka was convicted of two counts of manslaughter, and Pearson and Kemp were found not guilty of manslaughter, but convicted of assault.

The two brothers remain in prison. They are not eligible for parole until 2025, although should never walk free again.

Kuka was given parole in 2015, but he broke it soon after. She went back to prison, but in 2017 she was out on parole again. Oriwa and Michael Pearson both got short sentences for the m*urder, but their lives have been hard since then.

The five people who killed Nia should never have been let out of prison again.
