Indian Wells competition supervisor Tommy Haas states he is “very disappointed” over Novak Djokovic missing out on the opening Masters competition of the period in the desert. After the Australian Open, Djokovic asked for to be approved an unique authorization to get in the United States as an unvaccinated immigrant.

Haas lobbied for Djokovic to be allowed to play in Indian Wells
During the Australian Open, Haas was asked about the possibility of Djokovic missing the tournament for the second consecutive year just because of his vaccination status.
Haas was straight honest in his answer as he said that it ” would certainly be a shame” if Djokovic was again denied entry into the United States for Indian Wells. “Obviously, the one issue being that he still can not concern the United States If he does not play Indian Wells as well as Miami in March (it will certainly be difficult), they’re intended to raise those requireds by mid-April
It would certainly behave to see if we can perhaps raise those a little earlier as well as have him concern play Indian Wells as well asMiami I believe he intends to play, so we ought to offer him the opportunity. Djokovic is still on the Miami Masters entry list. The Miami Masters is starting in less than two weeks and Djokovic remains hopeful that sometime in the meantime will change that will allow him to play there.
